The Black Swan team

The Black Swan team is made up of experienced industry professionals with a track record of success. These professionals work for Black Swan Events on a consultancy or freelance basis therefore you only pay for them when you need them, ie not 24/7.

Paul Southern

Paul started his business career in transport within operations and logistics, he then moved across into sales where he became the National Sales Manager for a division of the largest Transport Group in the world, TNT. Paul then spent three years in Computers before moving into the world of Events. He was an owner and Director of The Ultimate Event Company from 1991 until he and his business partner sold the business in 2000, during his time there the Company grew in revenue terms from £60,000 per annum to £4m.

In 2000 Paul invested in European Events which at the time was struggling and had a turnover of under £1m. With Paul’s knowledge of the industry and sales and marketing acumen European Events grew from a small telesales operation to being recognised as the second largest Corporate Party Company in the Industry, holder of the title Corporate Hospitality Company of the year in 2004 and also owning and operating the largest venue in the City of London. Revenue grew from £1m to just under £8m and many operational and procedural protocols devised by European Events were adopted by many competitors.

During his time in the Industry Paul has collated a huge black book of event companies, venues and professionals who he utilises and partners with to fulfil the briefs given by the clients.

Paul is known as a being a straight talking, hard negotiator but also for being fair with clients, staff and suppliers. Many of the suppliers and venues used by Paul have dealt with him for over 15 years… not usual in the event industry.


Jane Wade

Jane is an expert in sales, marketing and live events with fifteen years experience in delivering outstanding campaigns for clients, in particular in the retail and software sectors having worked both client and agency side. A marketing skill set that is tuned to deliver the best possible opportunities to sales teams, Jane is commercial with a keen understanding of business drivers, team dynamics and the requirements of stakeholders. Add to this her excellent network of client-side decision makers, industry leaders and proactive suppliers and marketing specialisms in social media, sustainable procurement and Jane is well positioned to devise business strategies for clients that are inclusive, dynamic and relevant.

Jane started with the world renowned sailing brand Gill in 1995 and managed the marketing through the 2000 Olympic Games where Gill sponsored both the British and US Sailing Teams. Leaving was a tough decision but Jane joined Paul at European Events in 2002 to help take the agency from £2m to just under £8m managing the marketing and live events teams and supporting Paul as he grew the sales operation. With a management style that is both constructive and inclusive, Jane comes highly recommended by peers, team members and clients. Jane has a Masters Degree in B2B Marketing as well as published articles and presentations, making her well respected and well known in her field.




Simon Gooding

Areas of expertise: Event Production, Marquee Planning and Building, Tour / Roadshow Production and Health & Safety

With over 27 years of professional experience, Simon is amongst the UK’s best and busiest production managers. He has the rare talent of being able to apply his specialist skills to world premieres, the corporate world and touring shows and concerts. Simons most recent work included supplying his services for High School Musical (in the UK and Spain), the world premieres of Never Forget, Flash dance, The Wedding Singer, West Side Story and most recently the award-winning Stones in his Pockets.

In the corporate arena Simon designed, sourced, built and managed the largest series of Event marquees in London between 2004 and 2008.


Andy Judson

Areas of expertise: Events Management, Production and Venue Management

Andy has over 10 years experience as an Operations Manager and Event Director within corporate communications, primarily within live communications across the spectrum of brand experiences, road shows, conferences, hospitality, incentives, exhibitions and parties. Andy has been involved in everything from overseeing the sales and marketing processes, sponsorship consultation and activation, celebrity and press liaison as well as operational and staff management.

Over the past four years Andy has worked solely on producing high profile events within Formula One as well as on the celebrity circuit including La Dolce Vita and the Grand Prix Ball. He has worked Agency side as well as Corporate and within Public and Charity Sectors.


Claire Emson

Areas of expertise: International Conferences, Event Management and Hospitality.

Claire Emson, has been involved in corporate, not-for-profit, and hospitality Event Management for almost two decades. Her experience working with some of the country’s top corporate clients, as well as entrepreneurial and small corporate concerns, non-profit organisations and hospitality clients gives her broad-based meeting and event knowledge on projects as diverse as medical congresses, to corporate live events, to scientific meetings and corporate hospitality.

Claire’s experience transcends cultural barriers and industry sectors, and it is this that gives her the edge over the competition.


David Thomas

Areas of expertise: Security and surveillance, Corporate Spy experiences and Team Builidng

David started on the SAS selection course at the tender age of 17 and a year later joined the SAS as the youngest recruit. He then spent eight years carrying out worldwide assignments! David has provided security and surveillance teams worldwide and has carried out operations involving terrorists, criminals, politicians and celebrities. David now facilitates corporate spy activities and team building unlike any other.


Paul Braybrooke

Areas of expertise: Audio visual, Award Ceremony Production and Product Launches

Paul is an expert in delivery of live events and creative video production. His experience includes live event production, product launches and experiential marketing. Creating and facilitating live events to compliment and enhance clients’ brands always with an eye on budget. Paul has produced more than 150 awards ceremonies and conferences up to 2000 delegates.



Sol N’Jie

Areas of expertise: Security, Crowd Safety, Large Public Show and Sporting Events

Sol’s key focus is Crowd Safety Management providing consultancy and certified training on aspects of crowd, venue and safety management to the leisure industry. With over twenty five years of delivering Crowd Management Services which includes a decade of providing large scale stewarding services to 100’s of events in London and the South East together with designing and managing the London Marathon Finish from 1982 until 2006.
